Points of Interest in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad has definitely transformed from the time of Sultan Ahmed Shah and turned into a metropolis city, however, what hasn't changed is its charm. The city has always been the love of western India and has remained an imperative seat. Today, we see a wonderful Ahmedabad that attracts the tourists around the world. Either it is a lattice work or about pols, either it is grand Jama Masjid or Adalaj Step Well, either it is about resorts or hotels like The Ummed Ahmedabad which is a five star hotel in Ahmedabad near Airport , everything has a unique story to tell about Ahmedabad.
Jama Masjid
Located on Mahatma Gandhi Road in Ahmedabad, Jama Masjid is one of the finest structural examples found in the city. Otherwise called Jumma Masjid, this mosque was worked by Sultan Ahmed Shah in the year 1423 for Muslim devotees to render.



Siddi Syed Mosque
Siddi Sayed Mosque is one of the most shot landmarks in Ahmedabad. It is located in the upper east corner of Bhadra Fort and is celebrated internationally for its latticework over the yellow sandstone. The real highlight of this mosque is the twin correctional facilities on the western divider. The cutting is all around appreciated as it has been finished with magnificent delicacy prayers.



Sabarmati Ashram
Named as the second home of Mahatma Gandhi, Sabarmati Ashram is a Spartan colony of tiled houses in Ahmedabad. The place has recorded significance as it is viewed as that it was from here Gandhi organized the last battle of freedom. Here one has the chance to opportunity his house called the Hriday Ashram, which has been all around kept up by the power. One can at present observe Gandhi's own things like round eyeglasses, wooden shoes, letters and books.

The Pols 
Pols are the tightly packed conglomeration of houses, built to ensure safety and security of the people. Ideally, a pol would have one or two entrances and secret exits, which only the people residing in the Pol would know about. In Gujarat, pols can be found at many places; however, the pols in the old city of Ahmedabad are its best example.




SarkhejRoja
At a short distance from Vishal Complex is SarkhejRoja, which is a wonderful complex of tombs and structures. The complex is worked around a simulated lake made for the leaders of Gujarat. The conspicuous tombs here include that of Ahmed Shah's spiritual counselor, Sheik Ahmed Khattu. One can witness fine cutting and metal latticework here.




Teen Darwaja
Located at the southeast of the Bhadra Fort, the Teen Darwaza (Triple Gateway) was the entrance to the Royal Square or MaidanShahi where the royal processions and polo games were once held. Today, the Teen Darwaza straddles the street, which is loaded with shops offering varieties, silverware, and other little things.


Nalsarovar Bird Sanctuary
 Around 60kms from Ahmedabad, Nal Sarovar is known to be one of the biggest bird sanctuaries in India. Sprawling over a zone of 115sq km, Nal Sarovar Lake and the surrounding marshy forests attract around 250 types of waterfowls like flamingoes, geese, cranes, pelicans and etc.
