 Umed Garden
·         History

The Umed Garden is among the largest gardens of Rajasthan and located in the busiest localities of Jodhpur. Conceived and developed under the rule of Maharaja Umed Singh,     it spreads over a large of 82 acres and is a biome in itself.

·         Attractions and timing

The Umed garden is a well maintained green patch housing a large collection of beautiful flowers and tree, complemented with fountains and artificial landscaping. The in-house zoo makes another one of its salient attraction. Home to species of monkeys, deer, lions, tigers zebras, the zoo is a wonderful place to visit with kids. A walk in Aviary is home to flocks of a variety of birds chirping in these green lands. Beside this are a Government museum’s collection of weapons, cloth, and royal artifacts.

These gardens experience huge crowd during the months from October to March and are open to public every day from 10 am to 4:30 pm. The entry fee is as nominal as INR 3 for Indian and INR for foreign nationals.

Masuriya Hill garden

Located in the hills of Masuriya, the Masuriya hill garden is among the prettiest gardens of Jodhpur. Apart from its beauty, the ancient temple of a local deity Baba Ramdev attracts a lot of people to this place.

 The garden is situated in the center of the hill and offers a magnificent view of the city, quite a different angle from that of the famous Mehrangarh fort. Bearing a huge statue of Veer Durgadas Rathore, the garden witnesses a large crowd of visitors for a picnic during the winter season.

Nehru Park

Inaugurated in September 1966, the Nehru park is a popular destination for kids and their picnics. Flourishing with ponds, fountains, and flower beds, it is sweet abode dedicated to children. It spreads over a land of 14 acres and is locally known as Children’s park.

The best time to enjoy here is the winter season in the mornings or evenings. There is no entry fee to the Nehru park and is open from  9 am to 6 pm.
